LENS COATING OPTIONS

At Framed eyewear we have one of the largest and most comprehensive coatings options in the area.

Whether for use during sports or in an office environment - we have the coating to suit you.

Scratch Resistant

Scratched lenses are distracting and can affect your ability to see clearly. This is a clear coating to increase the durability of the lens surface. It is an essential for polycarbonate and trivex lenses which scratch very easily.

Anti Glare (HMC)

A thin coating that elimates reflections and glare from the front and back surfaces of your lenses. AR improves light transmission through the lens for night driving and is highly recommended for high index, polycarbonate and aspheric lenses, which will reflect more light than regular lenses.

Anti Glare + EasyClean Tech

This coating takes the basic HMC and add a few extra benefits. These included a superhydrophic layer that is designed to repel smudges and dirt to reduce the amount of constant cleaning. Ideal for every day use.

Blue Light Block

Blue light is emmitted by most digital devices including computer screens, tablets and smart phones. This coating cuts out harmful blue violet light which results in eye strain, eye fatigue and headaches and is recommened especially for use in the working environment

Blue Light Block MAX Ultra

As with our standard blue light coating, this lens cuts out harmful blue violet light which results in eye strain, eye fatigue and headaches and is recommened especially for use in the working environment

This is intergrated into the lens and blocks 100% of harmful blue light rays.

Anti Fog

Even if you don't live in a cold climate, your lenses may fog up during sports activities or when you are hot and perspiring. We can provide a specialized, permanent lens coating designed to eliminate the condensation of moisture on the lenses that causes fogging.

Flash Mirror

More than just cosmetic - mirror coatings on lenses decrease the amount of light passing through the tinted lenses into your eyes. Another benefit is that they reduce glare while retaining contrast. This is adventageous for activities such as driving, skiing and water sports.

Tinting Solid or Gradient

Our tints come in countless colours and two different styles.

Solid tints are a single uniform colour, whereas gradient lenses are tinted from the top down. The darkest portion of the lens is at the top protecting you most when you look up.

UV Block

This coating will block 100% of UVA and UVB rays to help ward off the damaging signs of UV radiation. Ultraviolet rays are often linked to age related problems including macular degeneration and cataracts. Luckily this is included in our HMC, HMC+ and blue block lens coatings.

Anti Static EMI

EMI stands for Electro Magnetic Interference which is designed to reduce radiation from computer screens and other source of EMI. It also acts as an Anti Static coating as well. Luckily this is included in our HMC, HMC+ and blue block lens coatings.
